Welcome to Biosphere!
First of all I would like to say thank you for visiting the site and Welcome to Biosphere. Second, in order to benefit from this site your have to approach science with an open mind. Like all things it's subject to change and the concepts we have now may be corrected or falsified entirely at any time. That's the point of science, it's a self correcting process. We start by understanding that we can't know everything about anything and we don't know anything about everything perfectly. Because to "Know" something is the first step to blocking your mind against learning anything new about it. While the idea of Biosphere is to maintain a general understanding of Science as a whole our focus is one of the most mysterious aspects of our world, "Life". It seems to be at the center of every question we've ever had. What is it? What does it mean? How does it work? The very first sciences were likely established to explore these questions and they're still driving the scientific community to this day. It seems everywhere we look we're fascinated with life and everything about it, from the miniscule to the monumental. Here at Biosphere our goal is to try and introduce people to Biology, Abiogenesis and Evolution in simple terms that anyone can understand but in a mature fashion that everyone can appreciate without having their intelligence insulted. We'll include resources for intermediate users and even try to invoke the imaginations of those with an advanced knowledge of the inner workings of even the most complex biological mechanisms. Finally we'll talk about conservation and preservation of our world and what each of us can do to pass all of this wonder and beauty on to the next generation.
